The Caribbean Sea and Islands
   The Caribbean Sea washes coasts and beaches of the Yucatan peninsula, where Cancun is situated. "Paradise islands" – that is the way Christopher Columbus had called them – are many-sided and offer rest for every picky taste. The trip to Caribbean Islands involves the territories of many countries of duty-free commerce zones. Everyone can be satisfied with the atmosphere of the Caribbean world; it is actually the place for the best vacations. The white sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea invite and tantalize tourists from over the world. People are very friendly and helpful.
   Cancun is a very unique resort situated on the peninsula Yucatan in the state KintanaRoo. It is a real paradise. Yucatan is the most beautiful place with numerous sightseeing and attractions. Start with golf, scuba diving, swimming, etc. and finish with just walking and hiking along the lush beaches. We were very surprised when local people told a story about the time that Yucatan had been called “the country of turkey cock and deer” due to abundance of flora and fauna in this area. Millions species of butterflies, birds and exotic plants can be found in Yucatan. Jaguars and pumas as well as flamingo and Calibri are feeling equally here, so to say, everyone can find place under the sun. It’s not the end of paradise. Not far from Cancun there is the biggest island Consumel, which is famous for the huge ridge of coral reefs. I guess it is one of the reasons for many tourists to come here, just to admire the terrific coral reefs. They are like magnificent trees and flowers in the miraculous world of the ocean. Diving is a miracle, I should say. When I was diving for the first time, I found myself in the blue waters of the sea like in the other world – paradise, in a word. A variety of fishes swimming around amazed me with their colors and quickness. They didn’t know any fear while facing people swimming. Enormously bright fishes, stones of various types become overgrown with hogs; and plants graduating from tubular forms, up to absolutely indescribable abstraction. All this lived and moved, and beams of the sun getting easily in transparent thickness of water shined in the sea and danced bright yellow stripes on a sandy bottom of the Caribbean waters. People from everywhere want to see such a wonderful world.
   It is this island that keeps evidences of ancient civilizations – Maya and Toltec. It attracts people from all over the world most of all. We also joined them to investigate the ancient world and get acquainted with local people. There are a great many places of interests and sightseeing in Cancun and in the country which will never leave you bored or indifferent. A travel to Cancun is a great chance to learn Maya and Toltec culture, art, history, and kindness of local people who can gently advise you the appropriate way to relax and get rid of irritating and vexed fuss.
